IWC has once again secured a starring role on the big screen, this time in Oliver Stone’s upcoming film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Landing on the wrists of both lead actors, Michael Douglas as the notorious Gordon Gekko and Shia LaBeouf as the innovative Jacob Moore, the film reinforces the brand’s well-earned reputation as a power player in the business world.

To show who is boss, standing out—in an understated way—is paramount in the cut-throat world of finance. Jacob Moore couldn’t show his understanding of this philosophy any more – by sporting the IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar (Ref. IW502303), he is the true representation of the IWC guy, an educated, driven and talented man “in the know” who has a passion for the finer things in life.

Additionally, after his release from prison, the infamous Gordon Gekko shows his comprehension of strength and wealth by bearing the IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Edition Kurt Klaus in rose gold (Ref. IW376205). The limited edition piece is a true status symbol of Gekko’s return to power and an icon amongst the Wall Street power players.

Sorry if I seem negative about this, but do you really believe what you have written?

Product placement in the entertainment business is a business unto itself, and usually doesn't accurately portray real life.  And despite my two decades of  love for IWC,  the Wall Street set has not been known to favor IWC over a certain other very well known brand.

There are good reasons why there are IWC's on these actors' wrists, perhaps thousands of good reasons, but I don't think realistic character portrayals are among them.

    Well said Dick.
I think this kind of exposure is negative

Seems like you copy pasted the text from a low quality fun blog rather than some quality news or anything true collectors would be interested in knowing.

    Hmmm...

Oliver Stones film "Money Never Sleeps" was first shown at the Cannes film festival in 2010. Not really an upcoming film any longer....

I'm a literate, but somewhat undereducated public employee and I wear IWC watches, because I really like the watches!

I'm in the same boat with you Jim. Lowly civil servant who enjoys helping people and newly enjoying IWC watches.

I think the typical IWC hates generalizations. ;-)

The people and friends that are wearing IWC watches who I have met and got to know so far, are quite different and diverse:
Some have more money, some don't. Being a friend of IWC and their watches usually means to have a distinctive favor for quality and style.
