IWC vintage Aquatimer 812 AD ( warming: extreme WATCHPORN)

IWC vintage Aquatimer 812 ADAlas, this collector (who wants to stay annonimous) did not want to part of his magnificent AT..
but let me present you his watch anyways.
You come to love this very special IWC from 1969: the Aquatimer 812AD. A rare wristwatch that is kept in immaculate shape by the owner, a gentleman IWC collector. Although I tried, for him to part with a piece like this; given its rarity you are unlikely to ever find one again, especially in this condition, was no option.
Let’s dive a little deeper in this piece. The black dial with matte finish is spotless and the white writing gives strong contrast and matches the white inner rotating bezel. Like it should (but often this is not the case), the first 15 minutes on the bezel have tritium applied, just like the hands. The watch has its original crowns and the shallow caseback engraving is still visible. A Tropic strap is the way to go and finishes this collectible piece. A perfect example of an historically important piece, down to the very last detail.

Lovely watch. Was bought and sold by an Amsterdam trader earlier this year. Was sold pretty quickly. Was able to see it in between in person at an private event at Salle Privé in Amsterdam. The watch is an absolute stunner. Would actually prefer the one with the reversed color scheme. Either way, the 812 is a perfect watch. 

These are beautiful watches- I saw this nice trio once- what a nice sight!

WOOW Nelson and Giuliano! What a fantastic view on such marvelous pieces. I personally , like mentioned earlier, absolutely love the variations with white contrast. A fellow collector showed one to me once. Completely blown away. 

Ahhh the 812's...just superb !  Congrats to all who are lucky to have one ( or more ) in their collection. Can't think of a better IWC " tribute to " remake          ( hint,hint ).
