I am wondering if someone can help me find out more about this pocket watch.
I've inherited it from my grand-grand mother, long time ago. There is
engraving for, or from Popovic Brothers, Belgrade, but this is less important.
I am more interested in when the watch was manufactured and, eventualy, what
the current value might be on the market? Any help would be very much
appreciated.
Hello Zoja and welcome to the forum. According to the "Date Your IWC" applet,
the case of your watch was produced around 1903. If you can open up the
caseback and find the movement number that is engraved on the movement
(possibly a 6 digit number, different from the case number) we can help
identify the movement as well. Photos of the movement would also help.
Hi Ben, thanks for your reply. Getting closer to resolve the mistery. THe
number engraved on the movement is identical to the number on the caseback.
I'll post the picture of the mashine just to make sure that I am not making
some mistake. Thanks a lot once again.
I am sorry, the number that appears to be the same is actually the rerflection
od the one on the caseback. I have to open it again and try to make and post a
clear picture of the movement and the number engraved on it. There is a 6
digit number on one of these two posted picture, but I am afraid not quite
readable. My appology for this recklessness.

Hi, I finally managed to open the movement cover and read (using magnifier)
the number engraved on the movement. It reads 247412 (the last digit might be
9, but to me it looks like 2).

Well the numbers make sense - it seems you have a beautiful caliber 64 from
1901. It looks like it is in really nice condition and matches well with the
gold case. I'm sorry I can't give you a value for the watch, you may look to
see what similar pieces are currently selling for on various auction sites. It
is a great piece, though, and I would hold onto it if I were you.
I just wanted to add a few images that can be found online depicting the IWC
caliber 64. You can see some slight differences - your movement may be an
earlier vairent of the Cal. 64:
