IWC really was on the wrists of celebs last night at the Oscar ceremony --spotters have conclusively identified several IWCs on the wrists of presenters and winners.

By the way, Robin Williams is a big IWC fan. I sat next to him and him and his significant other at dinner while in San Francisco last week --Robin is a serious watch collector, especially including IWC, and a very funny guy. He started a routine about watch buying at the table that had me in stitches

    Regards,
    Michael

And Robin Williams made a nice quip as a presenter

at the Oscars though not repeatable here. LOL
I thought I saw another Big Pilot on someone's wrist during the Red Carpet walk.

    It is interesting...

that since becoming a habitué of this forum (and IWC aficionado), I find myself watching broadcasts like the Academy Awards with an eye on the men's wrists! This really is an illness! LOL!

    Best regards,
    Jim

MF, is any of that intentional >>>>>>>>>>>

...........'product placement' on the part if IWC, or just the wearer's personal watch?

    Thanks!

    I'm not 100% sure...

I know that one of the persons has bought several IWCs on his own --sometimes the retailers then let IWC know about their celebrity customer and then it becomes part of an on-going "friends" relationship.

When I had dinner with Robin Williams at an IWC event, I don't think he was "paid" to be there --he just was one of the guests and I was fortunate enough to sit at the table with him and his friend,

There may be some commercial ties or some gift watches over time, but these were not just people wearing watches for a specific promotion. There was no product placement in that sense,
