Dear Forum contributors and friends of IWC,
The current iwc.com has been live since 2001 and has served us well over the years, however, it is time for a change. We have decided to close the current site and launch an Interim IWC.com to allow us to focus on re-engineering.
Whilst the main site content will be in English, we will maintain both English and German forums. Other language visitors to the website will be presented with a message in their language on the home page. This message will give them the option to register to be notified of the relaunch in their language.
The forum:
We are pleased to announce we will upgrade the forum tool several days after we have launched the Interim site. This upgrade will be simple but we hope a significant improvement on the current solution. Whilst this upgrade will be an improvement, it may not be as sophisticated as tools you are familiar with on other forum sites. We are sure you will provide us with feedback and we will do our best to accommodate upgrades in future.
The archive:
We understand that the forum archive is an important source of information and we aim to migrate this to the new solution. As it is a large archive of information, it will take us time to complete and may not be available when we go live.
Your logins:
Your forum logins will remain the same as they are today, so there will be no need to re-register to gain access. If you experience problems, please contact the forum moderator who will be in direct contact with us.
The forum moderators:
We are pleased that the current forum moderators will be helping us to maintain and animating the forum. In addition, we are appointing a community project manager here at IWC. His role will be as a primary contact for the forum moderators in helping to answer questions and provide content.
Next steps:
We will take the current website down in the next 24 to 48 hours and as of this time the forum will not be available until we have migrated it to the new platform. Please check back in the next few days.
