Hello,
I am new to this forum and would like to ask some questions on a watch that I bought today. I am a long time vintage watch collector but I have never owned an IWC watch.
Today I saw a IWC Yacht Club from the 1970ies at a dealer and immediately found the watch very interesting and beautiful. The watch looked like a steel watch in the vitrine but when I took a closer look it turned out to be a white gold model. After some negotiation I have bought the watch and now I'm the proud owner of my first IWC. It is the model with a date and Automatic movement.
The dealer said that only approximately 20 watches were sold in white gold. I wonder if this statement is correct or not. I am also interested on the reference number and the movement (cal. 8541?) of my watch. Where can I find a serial/case number of the watch? Is kind of a serial number list available in order to date the watch more precisely? Is it possible to get an extractfrom the archives from IWC?
Thank you for every comment or information. When I have learned to add pics to a thread I will post some pics of my watch.
