    Dear Moderator:

Many thanks for notifying English-speaking Forum participants about this fine development!

As a speaker of German, I shall shortly introduce myself on the German Forum, in hopes of learning what especially makes German IWC devotees tick (Ha!) and also in order to practice my German, which is getting rusty.

    Again, thanks!

    Freundliche Gruesse,

    Donald Wilson

What German forum is that? I thought it was dead and buried and closed for any new comments. I may stand corrected that it is available in the archives though to read and use as reference only.

I believe that what was announced was the IWC site in the German language. The word Forum was never mentioned.
I clicked on the link which took me to site in German, clicked on the Forum and back to the unified forum.

Good idea of IWC to have a website in their mother tongue. It is good to look around in the world, but also to remember and honour your own roots. This shows character and commands respect. Good luck IWC!

    Schöne Grüße,
    Paul

This was the intent from Day One, but took longer to mimplement than some persons may have anticipated. One of the "high-class problems" of the new website is that there is so much content, and translating that, and then dealing with format issues, etc. can be a huge task. This is especially the case since the website is so dynamic.

To solve some of those issues, IWC has increased its internal staff. There is now a woman in charge of articles and last I heard IWC was going to hire a websmaster. There also was an intern working in the area when I visited last month, as well as others.

As IWC management obviously doesn't consider German speaking countries as markets with a promising future, this seems to be a waste of money. I can imagine that the German website will be turned off again once management comes to the decision that fostering the Russian market brings more benefits.
