Greg at the Yorkdale (Toronto) boutique told me that the entire series (All Jubilee models) is 85% sold out. My IW3777-25 is sold out as of Monday. Exciting for those that got one (many) but I feel for those that are on the wait list.
Also attended the Jubilee event at the Toronto boutique. White Portugieser is techincally sold out. I ended up placing a deposit both on the Blue dial and White dial Portugieser to try my luck. Likely won't be able to get the white one based on the number of people ahead of me but should be able to get the blue one (which is also beautiful in its own right). I believe delivery should be around October.
I ordered the white Portugieser 8 day manual wind, but delivery is not expected until the fall. I saw the Chrono at the NYC boutique in white and it confirmed my take from the original photos about the beautiful high contrast, vintage look of the laquer. I was a little surprised that it doesn't read white, but closer to an eggshell, which gives it a richer look.
The team at the Newport Beach boutique presented me with my long-awaited Pallweber. Fascinating piece. The jumping numbers were quite the attraction for everyone attending the Jubilee event. Amazing piece of 136 year old technology brought back to life.
I had the luck to get my desiered piece: the white Portofino Handwound Moonphase in steel (IW516406). I must say, that I first tended to the blue version, but when seeing them in reality, the white one was just stunning! I've just made the money transfer and I will collect it this week at the Zurich Boutique. It was a good choice to wait for the Jubilee Collection instead uf buying the standard model (IW516401), which I had in focus for quite a while, also for it's nice contrast to the grey Portugieser Chronograph Classic (IW390404) I'm already owning.
Congrats to the new owners who have picked their pieces up already. Am on the list for a IW371602; hopefully I get allocated one. The wait until Q3 is getting agonising. Lol. Looking forward to seeing it!
Just wondering, is the white lacquer dial a bit off-white in color? Either the white balance is off on my monitor, or there really is a hint of warmth in the dials. Thanks.
