Me and Maria
Me and Maria
July 2010..countdown started
Hi to all members of this amazed forum,
I just want to share my joy and happiness with you.
This July will be one of the most important months of my life.
Two reasons :
First,
middle July I 'm waiting from my AD three beauties :
1.PORTUGUESE AUTO. SS IW500109
2.INGI AUTO. MISSION EARTH "ADVENTURE ECOLOGY" IW323603
3.PILOT'S WATCH CHRONOGRAPH SS IW371701.
Second,
at 31 of July I 'm getting married in small hometown here in Greece called ANTIKIRA.
My future wife (MARIA) is patient and receptive about my watch-mania.
HOPE THIS LAST FOREVER.
One last thing.... Is there any advice - all married people- that can you give me????
Dimitris
More watches than women ,-)
And don't forget to look at your wife and tell her how beautiful SHE is. She'll always be a little bit more beautiful than all your watches together. ,-)
Don't worry too much! With such a start nothing can go wrong. If there's love and passion everything will be wonderful.
All the best,
Tilo
I have been married 39 years, and learned how to
end every argument with merely two words. I always win, just as soon as I use those two words.
As a fellow IWC fan, I am happy to pass along the secret of my long marriage in the hopes that your marriage will be as long and happy as mine has been.
Practice the following two words and never forget them.
Yes dear.
Congratulations Dimitris!...
July will always be a month for you to remember! I think Tilo and Dick have the marriage advice well covered. I would only add that you might start each day with "I love you" before you look at your new watches!!!! Seriously...all the best to you on this momentous occasion!
Best regards,
Jim
What a start!, on the other topic...
...think that you have to listen, listen and keep listening.
Congratulations, Julx
Congrats!!! And what a nice place to marry . . .
. . . and there is still that ancient Greek proverb about Antikyra:
the town was famous of the HELLEBORE, an herb with which one could supposedly cure madness.
This phrase was often used as a reference to someone's state of mind:
"Antikyras se dei" which means: he goes to Antikyra.
Also the old Romans knew the town:
"„Naviget Anticyram" (Horaz)
So, don't worry Dimitris: you ARE STILL in Anikyra and you are STILL mad of watches . . . as all of us. Seems that this herb doesn't work :=)
So, everyone here was in Antikyra!
Thank you Dr.Goerter...
you' are absolutely right!!! Ε,Λ,Λ,Ε,Β,Ο,Ρ,Ο,Σ, doesn't cure my madness
If you decide to visit Greece come to visit me in Antikyra ,-)))
Dimitirs, firstly congratulations, amazing place..
...to get maried to whom I am sure is an amazing woman (she "understands" the passion around the watches - that already qualifies her to a large extent ). As for advise - I would suggest NEver but Never, come home with a new watch without something real nice for her! Best of all (but it does impact your collection abilities) - is to get her a real nice IWC (there are some nice "ladies" watches still real wearable out there - or even some of the midsize ones might apeal to her), and teach her the passion. You wont look back ! Good luck and heres to looking towards your Golden Wedding aniversary!
2 tips for you....
Try not to let your forum participation compete for her time or attention. (my wife has been a 'lurker' here on the forum - so, often, she stays informed on my watch passions)
When taking delivery of a new IWC - you may want to celebrate its arrival with a nice dinner or night on the town, weekend getaway - along with a gift of jewelry or a handbag for her. It's a basic, Pavlovian incentive programming trick - but you'll love it when she becomes really excited about a new watch... some may call this cruel and dirty - but it's flawless!!
PS - Many Congratulations!!!
advice..
Buy her a IWC to!
And she will be injected with the virus!
Have a great wedding!!
BAS DEKKERS
After 18 years of marriage has collected 6 IWC´s
Hey great news Dimitri
my best wishes my friend and what a way to start with IWC.
Best regards
Argiris
Dick you are my hero (nt)
