    Dear all,

I've had my Mark XVI on various straps so far, but today I put it on a brand new OEM strap from the Spitfire. I think this strap is worth every penny - lovely big, meaty scales, dead straight stitching, and luxurious padding. 'What's not to like?,' as they say. It's a tough call between croc and the more traditional buffalo for a pilot's watch, but I think a brown croc is a good compromise. What do you think?

    Best, J.

I just love black on brown, and the

white stitching really makes it pop. What a great look!

    Looks very nice indeed

As stated before, black dial brown strap looks sporty, kicking some life into the watch. I wonder though whether you will still like this in, say, half a year. Maybe you could tell us. It looks a bit audacious, maybe a bit too much for a watch company to put the watch on offer this way. Could IWC comment on this in one way or another?

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing titanium quartz GST Chrono, after a very exciting and cold Solex ride

Thanks to all for the comments.

I will indeed report back on how it looks to my eyes in a few months' time. You may be right, Paul, that it's too zingy a combo for IWC to offer as standard. I first saw this combo being displayed "unofficially" if you like, in an AD's window, and I thought it was such an eye-catching look, that when it became time to change the strap, I'd go for this.

On a side note, it illustrates again how versatile IWC's pilot's watches are. When I was buying mine three years ago, the AD said "No matter what other watches you buy, you'll always have this one," and so far, he's been absolutely right. I can't think of letting it go.

    Best, J.

I have the same MK XVI on a stainless bracelet - and never realised how neat it might look with a leather strap! It looks GREAT !

I'm off to my AD in the morning.....for a genuine OEM strap too!

Good one, Mark. The other thing I find about straps is that for a few days after replacing one, you kind of have that new watch sensation, at a fraction of the cost of actually buying a new timepiece.

Hadn't pictured this watch with brown shoes, but..

....it looks VERY nice. Great choice indeed.

    Cheers,
    Evan
