That must have been a nice event indeed. Were there any watches to be seen, like the new Portofino's, or some new watches, like special editions? What did you think of them?
Kind regards,
Paul
Paul -
Yes - The Portofino collection was prominently displayed throughout the party, and Peter Lindbergh's photo exhibit. I believe all metal variants were there, and perhaps duplicate displays - I only noticed the Portofino line.
I really like the Milanese Mesh steel bracelet - and it works so well on both the Portofino Automatic, and Chrono - in both silver and black dial. IWC did a great job in making this entry-level watch line standout - and brought the collective equity of the brand further up-market. The 8-Day, in Rose is quite remarkable - and THE STRAPS!!! Wow. The rich, tones and textures of the A. Santoni straps are remarkable. My wife's favorite was the steel auto Silver dial on Milanese mesh bracelet.
Yes, I concur with Rich. That Milanse mesh bracelet is an absolute knock out! The slightly larger sizes of the Portofino line along with the fine re-design is testament to the design team in Schaffhausen.
The adjustment system of the mesh bracelet is also finely thought out and made, as you might imagine. And those straps= true class!

Thank you, Richard. I feel that I "need" an elegant watch on a bracelet, and think about the 8-days hand-wound on the Milanese mesh bracelet: that seems possible too. And here on the site my eye is regularly caught by the black dial Portofino Automatic on the mesh bracelet: it truly looks great, I understand your wife. Well, who knows what is going to happen, I have to see them before any decisions are taken.
Kind regards,
Paul
