London GTG with Anthony

Our forummer Anthony came all the way from Melbourne Australia for a big European holiday…

With a stop in London it was as usual, a real treat to finally meet a fellow forummer in person!

I tried on the new Aquatimer 2000 with yellow. I love yellow… and big watches as you all know.

So this was a bit hard to put down!

I also enjoyed this new Aquatimer Automatic “Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau”

A superb blue – different from any other I’ve seen. It has a hint of grey in it. A very elegant blue.

Great report and superb photos, Thang! The London Boutique edition BP is gorgeous and that blue on the Cousteau diver is really nice; your photos capture that dial beautifully. What really got my attention is the radiant dial of the BFI Portugieser - what is the story with that one?

Very good GTG gents, and great shots! It was especially great to see some "live" shots of the new yellow AT2000 - I hope you will be the first owner of one Thang :-)

Hey guys,

First I have to say a big thank you to Thang for taking the time to meet up. Being from so far away - and at a location without a boutique - it's a must whenever we travel to try and arrange for an IWC visit and GTG. It's hard during the Christmas period and on short notice, but I truly appreciated the effort as well as the well wishes from the London gentlemen who were unable to make it. As you saw, it was a bonus to have Andrew drop by as well

Mark - if I recall correctly, that gentleman with the VC Inge was Claude; brother-in-law of Andrew.

Ben - the BFI celebrates the British Film Institute - a limited edition of 59 for this year. Absolutely beautiful as you can tell. I don't know the story behind the dial though.

As you can see, I was totally smitten with the Big Pilot PPC... such an elegant style for that model. The actual number of that edition hit a soft spot with me too. Alas, not to be.

I did, however, leave the boutique with clarity and - I hope - a bit more wisdom... so my pursuit continues, thanks to Thang.

Apologies for the lack of photos with this post - only have the iPhone and hotel Wi-Fi and am about to rush out. I'll try to add some later... perhaps in 2016!
