Wondering if anyone knows of good sources for vintage G10 / Nato straps. I
see plenty available on line, Amazon, etc, but wish to draw on the expertise
of forum members. I'm looking for an 18 mm for my 1952 Mark 11.

    Many thanks,

Look on ebay for mickey500. Though his ebay-name doesn't really sound
reputable he was official supplier of NATOs for the British Armed Forces and
as far as I know he still is.

The original Mark XI came on a Bonklip the correct 17.9mm ones are getting
very rare it took me a few years to source mine, when not on Bonklip I put her
on a Phoenix NATO as used by the m.o.d they usually have 18mm stamped on the
    reverse of the buckle.

    I hope this helps Baden

Hello Baden and many thanks for the helpful reply. I've looked into period
Bonklip straps but as you say, they're hard to find. I spoke with a fellow
selling a period Every Bright strap which looks very similar to the Bonklip
and asked him the difference between the two. He said Bonklip was of British
manufacture, and Ever Bright was Swiss. Not sure if that is actually the case
and will continue to dig. In the meantime, I bought a aged Dassari green
fabric Nato strap which is serving the purpose for now. My thinking in
getting the fabric strap was that UK MOD reportedly went to green fabric
straps sometime after the original metal Bonklips. If and when I come up with
a period Bonklip, I'll likely not put it on, rather just hold onto it for Mark
    XI authenticity purposes.

Yours is a great looking Mark XI. Thanks for the picture. What a great watch
and great piece of history to own. I'm actively looking for a JLC Mark XI
next. It will be a nice complement to the IWC.

    Regards,

    Paul Nelson
