it's my first time in IWC forum so I won't be too long.
I'd like to ask you for a help. Can anyone tell me what IWC is this ?
I saw so many pictures and different articles on the internet but I couldn' t find out the answer.
It looks like "portuguese type" but I'm not sure. Caseback has this ser.number: 2678159.

BTW, around the 3 second mark @edge of bezel , looks like the "plating" is chipping off. Hate when that happens.

MasterYikes again. Where are these coming from. We've seen a few really bad fakes recently. Maybe the strap is really an alligator one, not an IWC orignal is my guess though.

GraduateI would like to ask all forum members not to answer such questions anymore. It is an easy way for fake producers to get an opinion on their fakes. And let's be honest: Everyone who buys or wants to buy an IWC for less than 500 CHF/€/$/£ knows exactly that such a watch is a fake.
So let's just stay silent in the future! -

Yes, we had this discussion many times.
I am suspicious too and what all the persons who ask the questions have in common that it is their first post and their last.
Moreover, they inherited them from father or uncle , nobody bought it on the beach or street corner.
Just my 2 cents : if one is intelligent enough to pass the procedure to enter the forum including to post images, how much more intelligence does one need to search the internet and look up the abundant information about genuine IWC watches?

ConnoisseurI fully agree with Adrian, these guys are looking for advises to improve their fakes. If they can sign-up here, they easily could do a google search or visit an AD in their area. But for sure they already know that he would take out the hammer to smash it ;)

I understand the aversion to answering questions from new users. but for people getting their first IWC identifiying is an important part of the process.
Having said this. I do have my own IWC that I received as a gift from my father. Its a family heirloom so knowing what it is is a good place to understand the histoty. According to my dad the watch is old, but he got it form his Stepfather who gave him little info on the piece.
As far as i can tell it looks pretty similar a the 1930-40s big pilot, but there are some components that are off. (seconsd hand, and location of the triangle at the 60 min mark on the dial.

I don't have problems people asking about a watch they have, the only problem I have is when answered that it is a fake, some people start to argue , not believing what people on the forum say. Some people answering have bought 100 IWC watches , know very much each model made in the past, so please believe when we say it is a fake, we are sure it is not a genuine IWC.
That said, the watch you show is by far not an IWC, only thing referring to a big pilot is the fish crown, for the rest, no family.

Found this at an antique store.. they are selling it as an old family watch.
Any comments?
I did a little internet research on my own but couldn't find nothing similar to this model with full 12/24 chronograph markings and IWC logo detached from Schaffhausen this way.Thanks and greetings from Croatia.
