    Hello!
I joined this forum because I got an old IWC watch out of my parents cellar.
See picture. Is it possible to find out somehow the model and year of making?
At the bottom there is a "T SWISS T" graving. The metal bracelet has "IWC" and
"TISSOT 2612-40643" on it, which seems strange to me.

I like the watch very much, so I would keep it, my parents say I should sell
    it... any suggestions?
Thank you very much and all the best from cologne.

The watch is almost certainly an IWC from the automatic series cal. 85, that
    is cal. 8521, 8531 or 8541 from the 1960ies or 1970ies.

The bracelet is not IWC, otherwise it should not be marked 'Tissot'.

We can say it exactly is you provide an image from the movement and the
    movement number.

The case back is most probably a screw-on lid. Easy to open by a special tool
    or by a watchmaker.

I suspect most here on the IWC Collector's Forum would advise you to follow
your heart and KEEP THE WATCH! And have it serviced prior to wearing it. Many
watch admirers recognize the IWC automatic movement from this watch to be
among the very finest ever made.

It is most probably a ref. 810 from the 70s.

    Hi all!

Thanks very much for your help! It´s a R 810 A and I will kepp it.
Unfortunately, the watch isn´t doing her job... I´ll have to check and repair.
Does anybody know what the numbers 1950202 mean?

    All the best from Cologne!

    Hi Ralph,

the number you mention ist the case number. On the circumfence of the movement
you will find the Movement number. The Ref. 810A is a typical IWC watch of the
1960s to 1970s, verry classic an nice model. It comes with an excellent
automatik movement the Cal. 8541. Technically it was the summit of the IWC
automatic movement development based on Albert Pellatons design.

    Great Watch and excellent movement.

Based on the numbers you've provided, here is what we can gather from the
    "Date Your IWC" database:

The movement is a calibre 8541, dating from the year 1970.
The case was most probably produced around 1969 and delivered up to 1972.
