Without a real need to look for special straps, I still looked at the straps manufactured by quite a lot strap manufacturers. What I was interested in were high quality shell cordovan straps, just because that type of leather is so special, yet hardly ever used by IWC.
Although exceptions are there, I got the impression that most strap manufacturers were rather small, the straps were often quite cheap, and the quality of the straps were often not of the same high and constant level of the straps you get when you buy an IWC watch.
I like the croc straps that came with for instance the Vintage Collection Portuguese: not too thick, quite supple, and strong enough that it still looks like almost new.
My question is: who is the supplier of these straps? Is it the same supplier for the different kind of straps, or are different suppliers used, to be able to deliver the number of straps required? Of course I know about Santoni, but I really am more interested in the manufacturer of the more standard straps. I hope this information can be shared: thank you!
Kind regards,
Paul
