    Hi Everyone,

My name is David, im pretty new to watches and collecting them in general. I already have 2 IWC watches, but have found myself drawn to vintage watches. Im currently living in Tokyo. In Japan for some reason Ebay never took off so they used Yahoo Auction (which being a Japanese company is usually pretty reputable) Anyway to try and cut a long story short I bought what I belive is a Mark XI (exrtemely sorry if this is incorrect). After seeing various pictures and posts, alarms bells started ringing when I saw the hands. Ive included some photos of various parts of the watch. Could anyone please put me out of my misery if ive indeed bought a lemon?

    Kind Regards

I’m sorry to tell you that yes, I think it’s a fake.
Without going into the long list of things that aren’t correct, the main one is the movement.
    That’s not a Cal 89.

Sorry. I can fully confirm the others input. This is 100% a fake watch and should, in my opinion, be destroyed.
If they have claimed on the auction site where you bought it, that it was an original and authentic IWC Mark XI, then you should try to report the seller and get your money back.

I hope it has not been an expensive experience for you. And a nice learning is to do the research ahead of time and this forum is a wonderful place where nice people will always help out and give advice.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. Which two IWC watches do you ahve David ?
