    from service at local watchmaker.

Full service and a fresh soft iron dial/hands instead the old brass dial/hands.

The SL lume intensity is huge and keeps good.

Now, the navigation combination of that era, Mark XI & Astro Compass, would work ?!

It is a good day when the truth returns to a Mark 11. Well done Heiko.
You need a bubble sextant now. The astro compass will correct your magnetic compass, but to know where you are, you need a Mark IX, sextant.

Great hint Tony, I have never seen this item before.

I think, I will go ahead with GPS, not as complicates as tools of that era.

    Regards

    Hi Heiko,
You are an engineer and should appreciate this. Why use simple user-friendly systems, if complicated and elaborate ones work almost as well? ;-)

Yep Tony, that in indeed the salt in the soup and a fun factor, but could be frustating, due to long term very bad weather condition at the 52nd degree of latitude.

    So, man is lost :-)

    Regards

    Heiko
