Mark XV Production Date from Case Number?

I recently purchased a previously owned Mark XV (Classic black dial) with a case/serial number of 3098xxx. The warranty card is filled in with everything but the date. Can anyone help me to extrapolate the date of production for this watch? I am thinking late 2005, towards the end of the Mark XV's run, but would appreciate other inputs.

Every so often someone asks about dating a relatively recent watch from its case number, and a few others provide numbers of "known" dates for comparison or extrapolation.

For example, I posted previously that my Big Pilot's Watch had number 2,88x,xxx, and it was one of the first. As such it might have been made in late 2001 and can't be later than 2002. Based on guesses about production, I would think your watch must fall in the 2004 or 2005 year range, even if not all numbers are used perfectly consecutively.
