So I received this beautiful Mark XVII from my dad, and had it at a jeweler
recently to check a loud rotor noise, as well as the fact that the lume on the
hands is much brighter than on the dial. The triangle like looks a bit off to
    me on a macro shot.

While he had it open, I noticed the serial # on the movement was different
from the serial on case back. Is this normal?

360xxxx on the movement and then 528xxxx on the case back.

    Does everything look authentic?

It's not unusual to have different serial numbers. The watch may be cases days
or months after a movement is complete. It would be a miracle and unique, if
    they were the same.
