I have always admired the bracelets that IWC have paired with the pilot's watches and just loved the new collection immediately. The Mark XVIII edition "Le Petit Prince" really struck me and I could only imagine how it would look on a bracelet. I was only concerned, however, that the watch was just too small for me. But for my wife, it just might be perfect. She had been eying several of my watches and loves the larger size of IWCs. How perfect, I could buy the watch that was too small after all! I was quite fortunate that Hoa at the NYC flagship boutique was able to secure this beauty for me in time for a surprise trip and my wife was absolutely ecstatic:

The only problem I have now is that before I sized the bracelet for my wife, I had to try it on and it is absolutely superb! The weight, balance and feel of this watch on this bracelet is just perfect. It has such a low profile compared to my more complicated watches and thicker-cased divers. It just feels so good and it looks so great:

Maybe, one day, we'll get a bracelet for the Big Pilot too.

That is really a terrific looking watch, Ben. It has been calling my name since I first saw it. I have not yet answered the call, but I could easily see adding one with both strap and bracelet.

You are right that the lower profile makes the fit so comfortable. I find the same with my 3239 Ingenieur, which is quite a change after the iconic 3227.

I hope your wife shares it with you once in a while. But even if she doesn't, the picture you posted with blue beauties on each of your wrists shows that neither of you will suffer from "bare wrist syndrome". It's a lovely shot for sure!

Well done Ben and congratulations to your spouse as well. I tried to acquire the white dial Mark XVIII for my wife, but she is not yet sold on it. I will keep trying.

Well done! This watch is one of the nicest looking ones, certainly with this fantastic dial.

    Kind regards,

Ben, you are a lucky man, if you have this kind of problems. :)
There lies a special beauty in such pairs and the blue dials of those Pilots are a very nice example. My wife also enjoys this partner look, she wears the 3239 when the 3227 is on my wrist or the 3714 when I go with the 5001.
    Enjoy the new blue gem!

Thank you everyone for the kind words; we both are just loving this watch! I see this watch in a slightly different light when my wife wears it as details become apparent that were not as easily noticed on my own wrist.

Dick, I do remember watching you test drive this beauty at the New York boutique; it looked just perfect on you;)
