First post in this forum. Just wanted to share my newly acquired Mark XVII.

Been a long fan of IWC and always wanted my first one to be from the pilot line. I have been eyeing the Mark XVI for the longest time but couldn't pull the trigger because of the 39mm case. When the Mark XVII came out, I was excited to learn of the new 41mm case size. When I saw the watch in person I thought this is it. I finally found the first IWC that I would buy.

Extremely happy with the watch. Couldn't ask anything more from it. Beauty in it's simplicity. Plus it's running spot on since the day I got it! Looking forward to my next IWC!!

Nice one. Looks cool. Why the Pilot line first up?

Welcome from a fellow IWC rookie. If my experience is any indication, you'll be noticing that your first IWC is looking lonely and will desperately want to buy it a new friend... it's a dangerous addiction!

Congrats on your beauty! It's a timeless piece that will no doubt last you a lifetime and then some.

Dangerous indeed! I already can't wait to see the new 40mm Ingenieur. But i'm not complaining!

Somehow I've always associated IWC with Pilot's watches and this line seems to be the most versatile daily wear in my opinion. I do like the dressier & more complicated models but I prefer to buy watches that I would use more than just keep in the watchbox.

All good. I don't think you could go wrong with whichever IWC you picked. Great 1st choice though.

Welcome! And a great "first IWC" choice too. Have a good time here and remember... by the time you don't look every two minutes at your watch anymore, the time has come to buy a new one. ;-)
    Congratulations!

Greetings and a warm welcome to the Forum. A number of us started with a MARK and never looked back. My only regret was not buying a 12 watch display box early so I could see it filling up at a rather rapid pace. You'll know what I mean sooner than you think...It's not your fault, it's the virus and there's no stopping it.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Forum.

A pilot watch was my first IWC too, but back then it was the Mark XV. That was the first of many many IWC's over the last 13 years or so.

I hope you enjoy the watch and will also enjoy the hunt for others.
