Jo is a 30 year old woman from the North of England, and is internationally recognized as one of Europe's leading female yacht skippers. She's one of the few sailors who has circumnavigated South Georgia in the Southern Ocean, and has sailed as far north as Iceland and as far south as Antarctica.
Together with David Thompson, co-skipper, she'll be responsible for navigating the Plastiki. Jo also is particularly concerned about bringing environmental issues to the forefront of public consciousness.
