Mini GTG & Factory tour in Schaffhausen

Back from our European trip by car this summer I have evetually got to a small report covering our short but great visit to Schaffhausen.

Tom - aka Sinclair on the Forum - was availabe to meet up on July 30th. Planning to arrive at Park Villa Hotel at 4:30 or 5 pm at the latest to get a shower after hours on the road, we were caught by traffic and finally arrived at 6:30. Tom, thx a lot for your patience. Fortunately Tom had a flexible evening and had dinner with me and my wife Charlotta, together we formed a great mini-GTG.

Next morning Charlotta and I got the opportunity to browse the Town of Schaffhausen.

Back were she was born some 45 years ago, well the YC ref 811 - not my wife, she's born in Sweden ;-)

Other hobbies also supported by local businesses..!

So, in the afternoon it was time for the IWC Museum and Factory tour. Our host was Ms Jutta Häller who made our afternoon a great experience. As most of you know cameras were not allowed som not much of pics beside these Before the tour.

I can definitely recommend the IWC Museum and Factory tour to anyone visiting the area, also Schaffhausen itself is absolutely worth a visit - the combo is awesome! And I'm sure Tom will provide a local connection for any other IWC fans stopping by.

Great report - looks like you had a great time.
I passed through Schaffhausen on a cross European drive many years ago and recognize the fountain. I hope to return one day soon.

Teriffic report. Visiting Schaffhausen is always a priority if one is in the neighborhood. Hope to see you in NYC again someday.

I love Schaffhausen. Beautiful little town. Throw in the fact it is the home of IWC and you can't go wrong. Tom is a great host too. Nice pics Bob. Look forward to getting back there later this year.

Of course, I was about to have strong doubts about that statement of yours "born 45 years ago" and was figuring no spa work can be that good! ... When you corrected my thinking by pointing out that it was the watch, not the Mrs. Who by the way, makes us all proud the way she wears that good looking IWC Yacht Club.

Glad you had the opportunity to enjoy your time in Schaffhausen. It's always nice to touch home base, even if the Levinsohn Wing is no longer there. LOL
