Many years ago I inherited my grandfather's pocket watch chain, with a Native
American arrow head attached as a fob. I had forgotton it, but upon realizing
it decided to fit it with a IWC pocket watch I have. The chain looks to be
rose gold, and the gold holding the arrow head is yellow gold, as is the
watch.
Here is the new, mismatched set- in a holder I made. Even though the metals
do not match, I love 'using' my grandfather's chain again.

hides within?

It has a fascinating history. I got it from an esteemed collector, and with
it came the original documentation from an heir of the original owner. There
are even some original papers from IWC, signed by H. E. Homberger, with
information that was solicited from them in 1970.
"The movement is a Cal. 52, which in those days was called "Cal. IWC"" Dr.
Seyffer
Some more research from Dr. David Seyffer gave me more history. It is a very
early case number, #1561, one of only 18 made , and sold in 1892. The
condition is remarkable for such an old piece of history.

That is quite a beautiful case! As for the photo rotation issue - I have found
that a little post-processing is one fix. For me, once I have edited a photo
and re-saved it, I am then able to post it on the forum without any rotation.

This posting escaped me. I had the previlege of seeing this watch up close
and personal and it is a masterpiece. It has a remarkable story in Brazil,
which I invite Nelson to share with all of us.

I do not believe the word mismatch should be used here.
As far as I know, IWC never made watch chains until the 1970ies
The combination is a perfect match between IWC watch history and family
memories.
