I have just bought a iwc ingenieur limited edition from hour glass Australia in Melbourne and a boutique for iwc.
2 weeks later I noted there's a Letter S missing form the iwc schaffhau en.
I wish this website can allow me to attach photo.
It's been sent back to replacement and will take 3monthS.
Do you think this is acceptable?
Will it make the watch a even more limited edition piece??

If you want to post a photo, you do it this way,

Two weeks to notice the missing "s"? Totally unacceptable! The wait for a new dial is, however, understandable given that it is a limited piece. A replacement dial may not be readily available and may have to be ordered from the supplier who originally made the dial. I have also had to wait on a limited edition piece that received a dial replacement.

I have an Ingenieur with 59 rather than 60 minute markers. I don't know how these things get missed but they do. I doubt that the offending dial will ever enhance value, it will give rise to concerns whether it is a fake. By the way, I have the Archives extract and servicing papers to confirm my Ingenieur is genuine. I also have a Portuguesier 5001 with a spelling mistake on a bridge (good argument for getting rid of display backs). The 5001 needs a service but I don't want to send it in and risk having the bridge replaced. I am emotionally attached to that particular mistake.

Your watch needs a new dial and you have to be patient. IWC manufactures many 10s of thousands of watches a year and from time to time "stuff" happens. IWC is very good at putting things right.

Would love to see your photos.

I find it interesting that some people like to keep these quirky models. I think I may even be intrigued to keep it as is. Ralph's unique pieces bring us many moments of joy.
