I purchased my first IWC back in November,2010. Since then, and up to about mid-March of this year, I would see a constant Ad (print) campaign featuring numerous models from various family collections. These ads were located in high circulation newspapers and magazines in my geographic area (Southern California).

The last ads that I can remember seeing were a few of the new pilots just before they started to appear at the Boutiques. So I pose the question, what happened to IWC's print media? No ads in my area have been seen since around the end of the 1st quarter, 2012.

This is just an observation from where I reside. Has it been the same where you are?

    Just Curious,

    Andy

Andy, now that you mention it...yes!

Actually (given I travel substantially throughout Europe) the last print media add I saw was a full page add in the finance section (UK rag)- but that was months ago.

    Calm before the storm?

this particular spot in Hong Kong usually features a Richemont brand for most weeks of this year, to date. IWC has appeared for a few months with different displays. Elsewhere in Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and other places IWC is pretty prominent.

The funds spent on advertising, as well as how and where, depend on local budgets. In some instances, like the US, I believe there has been an intentional de-emphasis on print media relative to other avenues, particularly relative to Boutique promotions.
