hi I have a model number 2008 with a cal 849 19 jewel (IWC based?) movement
. I have tried to research and can find the JLC 849 in use from about 1993 in
a 201001 case but not in a 2008 - these seem to have an 18 Jewell cal 185 or
1852.. can anyone shed light

Hi thanks so that is an 18j then
the IWC main site shows the 201001 also coming with an 849 which a 19j JLC
based movement 1.85mmthis has 849 written under the balance (not visible in pic of course )
