Sorry if this has been asked before but just curious, what do the numbers surrounding the double moon phase of my PPC means? I tried to check it out in the manual but couldn't find it mentioned anywhere.

Days to next full moon. It's a ~29.5 day cycle.
I see. Thanks. Very useful if I am a werewolf :D
Hi ,
Recently I purchased my fisrt IWC watch and chose the perpetual calendar IW 502306 in red gold. I love the watch but I am not happy with the lunar phase display. I do not think that it is perfectly synchronised with the real moon phase. I understand that the moon disk should be displayed perfectly in the middle of the display on the date and time of the full moon. In my case the display seems to be one day in advance. Does anyone have any experience related to this model and how can I verify that display on my watch is perfectly synchronised. One of the features which attracted me to this model is the claim to the accuracy of the lunar display ...... a variance of one day in 577 years. Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ray
Hello Ray
When I acquired my PPC 5022, the moonphase was off several days. I suspect it might have been mishandled by someone, possibly a customer, at the dealer at some point before I purchased it. I sent it in to IWC and the moonphase was promptly corrected under warranty. If you have any concerns, send it in. I would talk to the dealer you purchased the watch from first, they should be willing to handle it for you.
Thanks Ben.
I am discussing this with my dealer and hope that we will solve it.
Thanks again.
Ray
For the 29.5 days, there where many discussion about the accuracy of this number, the "Grand Complication" and also the standard portugieser were "honored" to be wrong one day in 577,5 years ...
To indicate the 29.5 days on the dial could indicate, the watch is also doing one rotation in 2 * 29,5 days, what would be an step back.
What is the actual rotation accuracy of the double moon phase?
regards
Ralph
As this excerpt from the 5032 manual indicates, the rotation accuracy of the double moon phase is the same as all other IWC PPC's.
