I am crazy I know - but as someone famous once said "if you cannot decide which one to get, get both!!"

As most of you know I have been the humble owner of one IWC since August last year - and I guess you have been getting tired of hearing about and seeing my one PPC. Well, the infamous and extremely infectous IWC-Uhren-Virus hit me hard and my wanted list has been growing ever since that first acquisition.

A few favourites emerged quite early, before another jumped directly into the number one spot during SIHH. This one though will require some saving - and I guess I also have to earn the right to own one :-) Well, that opened the door for number 2 and 3 on the list.

I have been looking at these online for months, reading all I could find about them, but I had not seen any of them in real life until my wife and I had a layover at Heathrow a month ago. The watch store there had this eye catcher when you walk in - and I guess this is the first hint of where number 2 on my list is taking me:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9063.jpg

I immediately headed for the IWC display of course - and it is almost revealed already:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9056.jpg

    That back wall is beckoning:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9062.jpg

Just a couple of weeks later I was in Kuala Lumpur for a conference and was lucky enough to meet up with KS Low for a wonderful evening which I am sure you have all read about already - if not KS Low's fantastic post can be foundHERE

During our visit to the IWC store in KL I was able to try on several of the ones on my list and two finalists were emerging - the problem was which one to choose???

Well, after much deliberation, price and availability hunting, some great support and advice from KS Low, Shing and KS - fate actually interveened. My manager presented me with a really good bonus for the great results our company achieved last year - and suddenly both watches were within my reach :o)

I returned home yesterday with two great boxes in my suitcase:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9100.jpg

Tam-tam-ta - I guess it is no great surprise what the number 2 on my list is, I mean was:-)
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9116.jpg

    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9106.jpg

The Deep Two is an awesome piece of equipment!! I am very happy to be the owner of one!!

    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9134.jpg

It even looks good on top of a Ducati!!
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9133.jpg

    The first obligatory wrist shot:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9124.jpg

And with some water in the background - some very cold water!!!
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9126.jpg

This is the lake where this Deep Two will most likely make contact with its true element the first time - in a few months time that is!!!
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9127.jpg

I think some of you have realized that I do like my rubber straps:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9121.jpg

This is the perfect segway to the second reveal! Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to get the new job I had applied for, within the same company - and the official start date was March 1st. How can I really start this new job as Manager Engineering & Marketing without owning an Ingenieur??
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9113.jpg

The number 3 on my list is a technical beauty if you ask me:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9110.jpg
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9112.jpg

It does look good on the wrist - this will be a very good companion in my new job!
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9139.jpg

And the two handed hour and minute subdial will be excellent during business trips across different timezones.
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/Deep%20Two%20and%20Big%20Ingenieur%20Chronograph/IMG_9141.jpg

A few more shots of a Big Ingenieur for a Big Guy :-) And I favored this black with silver subdials to the all black or all silver dials!

Ah, I can now sit back and enjoy the weekend - and look at these two beauties!!

@ Alan - now the Big Inge is mine, with the leather strap. As you can see my first solution to solve the leather versus rubber strap is brilliant but expensive - I bought the Deep Two on rubber strap in addition :o) This will have to do for now - but I'll get back with more info when I take the next step, I still want a rubber strap for the Big Inge!

Thanks for reading all of you - now I may be able to join in on more of the "which IWC are you wearing today" posts :-)

    Have a great weekend everybody!!

    Hi Skule,
nothing to add to Shing's wise words, excellent story and pictures, congratulations, wear them in good health and have a very good weekend ( I bet you have !!! )

Indeed, brilliant....and what a well-rounded collection of three different use but related watches.

On the Deep Two, you might be interested to know it's made at IWC in a high horology workshop, which only assembles perpetual calendars, rattrapants and Deep Two's. The watchmaking there requires special skill and experience.

    Congratulations, three times!

First, congratulations on your new job and success in your work. Second, wow, when you jump in you make a big splash. You have added two excellent IWC's to your collection. Unfortunately, as you know, the virus is raging in your system and it will strike again when you least expect it. Well done and wear both in good health.

Skule, so happy for you Sir! I know that you've been lurking around the Deep Two and I kind of figured it was only a matter of time!

But the Inge is a complete surprise - but 100% spot on for an engineer of your clibre (pun).

It's not often we see a double barrel blast like this - and it's amazing to see how your collection is now with one single move, moved from the "distinguished" to the "well rounded" denominator.

Wish you well to wear it, and look forward to actually doing a dive together with you in the summer where we two can take the two deep two for a dive!

    Best regards
    Mark

You are quite sick, in a most wonderful way ;^)

    Once again, a big congratulations!
