I am crazy I know - but as someone famous once said "if you cannot decide which one to get, get both!!"
As most of you know I have been the humble owner of one IWC since August last year - and I guess you have been getting tired of hearing about and seeing my one PPC. Well, the infamous and extremely infectous IWC-Uhren-Virus hit me hard and my wanted list has been growing ever since that first acquisition.
A few favourites emerged quite early, before another jumped directly into the number one spot during SIHH. This one though will require some saving - and I guess I also have to earn the right to own one :-) Well, that opened the door for number 2 and 3 on the list.
I have been looking at these online for months, reading all I could find about them, but I had not seen any of them in real life until my wife and I had a layover at Heathrow a month ago. The watch store there had this eye catcher when you walk in - and I guess this is the first hint of where number 2 on my list is taking me:
I immediately headed for the IWC display of course - and it is almost revealed already:
That back wall is beckoning:
Just a couple of weeks later I was in Kuala Lumpur for a conference and was lucky enough to meet up with KS Low for a wonderful evening which I am sure you have all read about already - if not KS Low's fantastic post can be foundHERE
During our visit to the IWC store in KL I was able to try on several of the ones on my list and two finalists were emerging - the problem was which one to choose???
Well, after much deliberation, price and availability hunting, some great support and advice from KS Low, Shing and KS - fate actually interveened. My manager presented me with a really good bonus for the great results our company achieved last year - and suddenly both watches were within my reach :o)
I returned home yesterday with two great boxes in my suitcase:
Tam-tam-ta - I guess it is no great surprise what the number 2 on my list is, I mean was:-)
The Deep Two is an awesome piece of equipment!! I am very happy to be the owner of one!!
It even looks good on top of a Ducati!!
The first obligatory wrist shot:
And with some water in the background - some very cold water!!!
This is the lake where this Deep Two will most likely make contact with its true element the first time - in a few months time that is!!!
I think some of you have realized that I do like my rubber straps:
This is the perfect segway to the second reveal! Just before Christmas I was lucky enough to get the new job I had applied for, within the same company - and the official start date was March 1st. How can I really start this new job as Manager Engineering & Marketing without owning an Ingenieur??
The number 3 on my list is a technical beauty if you ask me:
It does look good on the wrist - this will be a very good companion in my new job!
And the two handed hour and minute subdial will be excellent during business trips across different timezones.
A few more shots of a Big Ingenieur for a Big Guy :-) And I favored this black with silver subdials to the all black or all silver dials!
Ah, I can now sit back and enjoy the weekend - and look at these two beauties!!
@ Alan - now the Big Inge is mine, with the leather strap. As you can see my first solution to solve the leather versus rubber strap is brilliant but expensive - I bought the Deep Two on rubber strap in addition :o) This will have to do for now - but I'll get back with more info when I take the next step, I still want a rubber strap for the Big Inge!
Thanks for reading all of you - now I may be able to join in on more of the "which IWC are you wearing today" posts :-)
Have a great weekend everybody!!
