For some time now, I have had the urge to add an IWC Pocket Watch to my collection
One recently came up for sale in Toronto, I enlisted the help of Mark Levinsohn and on his advice, I proceeded with confidence.

So so here is my 1912 Cal 52 H5 Watch.

Another hard core IWC collector struck by the pw-virus!
    Don't worry it is benign.

    Very cool Mark, huge congratulations!
Any IWC nerd should have at least 1 pocket watch by IWC. Including me. I hope I can find one soon that suits my needs, most of all not too expensive. ;-)
I'd be happy with a silver or steel one if it's a classic and has a beautiful movement. I'm not so much into rarities, just want a beautiful watch.

After some research and assistance from David Seyffer, I have found some additional information on my pocket watch.

The watch was sold October 31st 1913 to the Hungarian wholesaler Joseph Lang in Budapest.
According to IWC records the casemaker should be "Wyss and Co" in Bienne Switzerland.

Wow, the journey these mechanical wonders take in their lifetime is amazing!!
So it eventually landed in Toronto from Hungary somehow.
What a tale that must be.......

Another fine example of IWC pocket watch heritage.

it was my pleasure to have played a small part in Mark’s acquisition trail here, and his efforts are well rewarded with this watch.

    Hi

I saw your post on another thread....

So I think this could be a very early IWC wristwatch with Cal 64.

Or, a recased Pocket Watch, but I don't know these well enough to give a
definitive answer. Interesting watch all the same.

Maybe one of our resident experts could add some information?
