I wonder how well this would work out: sell it, and you know it; buy it back, and you know it even better. Fun aside, I would like to see a picture of your watch too.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Welcome to the Forum Killamist! Personally I don't think that a black leather strap would fit on your 3880 ... unless you find one which is as dull as the ceramic appearence of your pilot...
But perhaps there are other perceptions on this forum.

I have a Portofino with Maltese strap, unfortunately I haven't been able to wear the watch for quite some time but it has been in the case and not touched. Today I removed it and found the back of the watch to be what looks like stained as if ink has been smudged and ingrained!! Can anyone tell me what I could use to remove this unsightly stain/mark??

Ah,yes it could be described as dull or matte in a world of S/S I found it quite understated, which is what I was after, thanks for the welcome. Regards
    Vince.

Do you mean MILANESE BRACELET? I'm not sure what a MALTESE STRAP is?

    Hi Vince,
The answer is no, you cannot overwind an automatic movement. There is a clutch that will prevent the mainspring from being overwound.

When starting an auto watch that has wound down and stopped, 30 turns of the crown is recommended to give the mainspring sufficient power.
