These are excellent photos of a classic IWC, Nad! I hope this Portuguese to be my next IWC purchase. It seems that no collection is really complete without one. These pics will have to do me in the meantime!!
Really liking these photos -- thanks for sharing. Did you consider purchasing the Laureus edition of the Portuguese Automatic? It's my personal favorite out of all IWC watches. If any forum members own the Laureus and can post photos, would love to see them.
Hi Nad, thank you for sharing this fantastic pictures. I want to give away my 500107 as a trade in for an Aquatimer Ref. 3769, but when looking at these pictures I´m no longer shure, that this would be the right decision :) Cheers Stefan
Nad, Great to see you posting again, we missed those great travel photos. I have both the white/silver dail and the Laureus 5001 and both are fantantic but I do favor the Laureus. Regards, Kevin
Hello Nad. Great pics of your 5001. Sorry to hi-jack this string a bit: but found an old pic you posted of your 5001 with a brown alligator strap several years ago that I absolutely loved. Can you tell me where you order it from and whether you were able to get it for your 5001 deployment or did you order it with a buckle? Any help would be great. Thank you in advance. Cwilson.
There are numerous difference --much, if not all, being detailed in the archives. They include
--plastic vs. sapphire crystals --embossed vs. applied numerals --slight differences in crystal shapes --the 5001 movements came in varying technical improvements and minor aesthetic differences (and if I recall the first ones were slow beat)
