Hi, I've been lurking around for a while and finally took the plunge recently. Now, I need advise for strap option.

This is a LE Zinedane Zidane Ingenieur which is 44mm size. I understand the current range of Ingenieur is 46mm size.

I'm trying to find either a Rubber strap or Stainless Steel Bracelet. However, i did not have any luck. Can anyone advise me if IWC do have any rubber strap or Stainless Steel bracelet made for this watch? I checked with the boutique in Singapore and they told me they do not have any.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks Watchman for the pics.

I've tried the Zidane for a few times but its only now today that I saw from your pic the back engraving properly.

Thanks to the Bros here. I managed to find the bracelet. The price tag is hefty without any discount from Boutique. But....

I think this forum is great for newbies to learn more about the iwc brand and its watches.

Does anyone know what is the exact movement of the watch and is there anti magnatic (soft inner core) in the watch?

I've tried searching for the model in weeber but no luck.

Btw, my wrist size is 6.5 inches, and this watch sits pretty comfortable on me.

    Hi watchman@sg:

It has the 80110 calibre movement, and I believe it has a anti-magnetic soft iron inner case - corrections welcome as I cannot confirm this point from my quick archive search.

Thanks for the article. It says the movement is caliber 80111.

I searched weeber and found 2 other series using this caliber. For those models, nowhere did it mention it has protection against magnetic fields.

One of them, looks like a related model and did not have the soft iron inner core: www.weeber.biz/IWC/Workbook/2007/3234.pdf. My watch's reference is IW323403, so i guessed that model being IW3234 will have its characteristics applying to my watch as well.

I searched another ingenieur model which specifically listed protection against magnatic field as a characteristic.

Succession of the Ingenieur legend from 1955 / 80110 calibre IWCmanufactured
mechanical movement / Shock-absorbing system: springmounted
rotor / Maximum protection against magnetic fields – up to
    80,000 A/m
/ The legendary IWC winding mechanism (Pellaton system),
characterized by its efficiency and durability / Unmistakable, distinctive
    design

Am i right to conclude that my ingenieur does not have the magnatic protection? Otherwise, the workbook would have specify it as a characteristic in the related model. (ceramic ingenieur)

What is the difference between 80111 and 80110? Is it just some subtle differences?

I found the answer, copied from another forum:

The 80110 is used in watches with the anti-magnetic case (such as the 3227-01 Ingenieur) and the 80111 is used in models with a display back, such as the Vintage Collection Ingenieur. The pinion used by the 80110 calibers is a bit larger, because of the extra space that is needed for the anti-magnetic case. In the 80111 caliber watches, the pinion is a bit shorter.

Anti-mag or not, the watch sure looks great on the bracelet!

Next time, check the archives here first. This answer was published here initially and then virally spread to other websites. But in all events the answer is correct.

    Hi Q-La,

Yes it is. This is my largest (@ 43.5mm) and the heaviest watch (with the ss bracelet) in my collection. I dont know what is the exact weight though, unless someone is interested i'll be happy to look for a weighing machine.

Going thru the latest iwc catalog, i really like some of the newer watches, but unfortunately for me (i'm sure many will like it big though) they are on the big side...44mm - 46mm...my wrist is puny at 6.5 inch.

    Q-La,

You should! You simply can't go wrong with an IWC bracelet. Do yourself a favor and get one.

    Hi Q-La,

I hope u get your goodies, imo, the bracelet are of superb quality.

Now i'm keen to pair it with a IWC rubber strap. Does anyone knows of a compatible one? I understand IW3234 does not have a rubber strap listed.

Does the rubber strap of Ingenieur Double Chronograph Titanium (reference 3765) fit into IW3234?
