    Hello,

I just recently purchased what I believe to be a very rare Porsche Design
    Ocean 500 in Black Titanium.

Its definitely lived a life and isn't a vault dweller from the look of it.
I'm posting in hopes that the community might enlighten me as to more
information about it, namely HOW rare it is, what year might it have been
made, who famously owned it? Anything to fill in the gaps of its history will
fascinate me, so PLEASE no clue is too small or irrelevant.

I'm a big Porsche Design fan and collector, and of the PD time pieces, its one
of my rarest pieces. But as a PD IWC fan, I gravitate towards specific and
oddball pieces. I always figure that a pristine example with full box and
papers is always preferable, but if I wait around they tend to come around
again, but the same opportunity might not come along for the truly unique
models. You decide to go for it because your gut tells you, "this may be the
ONE time I get the chance to own something so special and unique." And as
such, when this piece came up for auction a few weeks ago at Christie's HK I
had to have it... and as fate would have it, I won it. It unfortunately came
with too few links to fit my wrist and I can't wear it, but I get to enjoy it
nonetheless as it it really is striking and curious. I don't know much about
it thus far other than it obviously exists because I get to hold it and play
with it and admire this really special piece. But curiousity is a wonderful
thing, right? It leads us on a quest for more information. I don't know if
I'd call it a grail for me, but it has quickly found a very special place in
my collection, and now I MUST LEARN EVERYTHING I CAN ABOUT IT!!!!!

So I'm here to find out anything I might from the esteemed wealth of IWC
knowledge that is this wonderful collective of IWC lore and knowledge.

I intend to talk to IWC and see what they might be able to tell me about it.
I welcome any lead or nook or cranny of knowledge about it. Please Help!

It came with a warranty card showing its last sale was in 2006. So I have to
presume it found its way back to IWC from its original owner or subsequent
owner(s). It's very cool as you can see. I'm over the moon about this
(Little) guy. If I could get more links for it, I will actually try mounting
stock Titatium 500 links to it to be able to wear it, but it is quite small
for my wrist, but I don't care, I LOVE IT!
