I've been considering a nice watch that I could use for formal occasions and really fixed my eyes on the Portofino 356501. It's simple, yet elegant design made me instantly decide to get it. This is something that I will truly enjoy owning. My first IWC is really one investment that I am really proud of.

Pictures or it never happened! :-)

Seriously, welcome to the Forum, DYA. This is a great place to share your passion for your new watch; one that most here now doubt will be your last IWC. Pull up a chair and stay a while.

Hi DYA, welcome to the forum.

On winding direction - it depends on your watch. Those with IWC's inhouse movement winds both directions I believe.

    Here's how to post pics...
Picture Uploading - A Snappy Guide
To upload a pic to the forum, you will need to first upload the picture onto a hosting site. This can be space provided by your internet service provider (your account may already come with one with a limited size). Whatever the case, the pic has to reside on a permanently live server and cannot be on your harddrive.

Quick Step One: most people sign up for a free host at www.photobucket.com
Quick Step Two: Upload your pic, preferably in 640x480 size
Quick Step Three: Look for this box below and click on the URL beside IMG Code, and paste it directly in ‘Your Comment’ box when writing a new comment in the forum.
    i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l497/vanhalen812/Admin%20Stuff/photobucketimagecodeslinks.jpg
Quick Step Four: check, check, check that you have successfully uploaded the pic (like I have done with the image directly above :) by using the preview button i.e. clicking on the ‘tick’, just above the ‘Your Comment’ box. And you’re done !

Thanks Marian42. Do you put it inside a watch winder? if yes, what is the direction of the winding of the watch? clockwise? counterclockwise or combination of both? many thanks.

DYA, your portofino ref 356501 should wind both ways in a watch winder - based on what I understand from a watch winder-database, and the movement inside the ref 356501. As commercial links are not allowed on this forum, if u wish to know more you can email me ?

I do not use a watch winder. Yet :o) I am wearing my watch regularly and wind only for the pleasure every morning by the hand. From Shing I think you'll get the right answer for sure.
