- an awesome design
- great bracelet
And havent I seen exactly that watch on the WatchLounge yesterday? =)
Well Adrian,
the PD by IWC 3700 topic was the motivation to show this late PD by IWC once
again and gaining some IWC Forum traffic :-)
The WatchLounge is an open brand Forum and interesting as well. I will try the
WatchLounge communication to contact you via PM.

Heiko
This is a PD I've never seen before. I love the design and dial layout.
Thanks for posting this one. I still enjoy logging in and discovering an IWC
watch that is new to me.
Thank you Jim,
that is a motivating feedback.
Those vintages are not as popular as modern timepieces, but sometimes someone
is interested.

Heiko
A scan from the 1996 catalogue with all variants of this model.
Very cool piece!! I love the combination complementary of complications. It
must make a great travel watch.
Bingo, those old Porsche Designers were very creative and also found a perfect
fitting name => DIE REISEUHR = TRAVEL WATCH !
The IWC Porsche Design line is among my favorites, especially the models that
went beyond telling only the time-the World Time, the Ocean, the Compass, and
of course my favorite, the Titan (3700/3702/3704).
I never had the pleasure of owning the World Time as my focus (while varied)
was only with mechanical movements. I owned a black aluminum/Delrin Compass
but don't think I'll seek another. I also owned an Ocean 2000. I would love to
have another, but the values in relation to the Titan chronograph are high for
me (in other words, I'd rather have 2-3 more Titans than one Ocean 2000).
Outside the IWC forum, it is tough to find collectors who admire the IWC
Porsche Design series. What a shame. They are fabulous designs and quality
watches. Light and comfortable to wear. Sometimes I get the feeling the
partnership between the two entities was "stressed," and perhaps even IWC does
not look fondly upon the collaboration? The line seems to be the "unloved"
IWC, except of course for the handful of admirers here!
Wow, you hit the nail !
I let this not so popular and not so rare PD leave the stable sometime ago.
But the new owner is a Forum Member and Porsche Car owner.
.
Thanks for posting that Stunner Heiko.
I am a great fan of pd watches and would love to add either an Ocean or Bund
to my collection. Right now, I rely on my Compass to fill that hole.
I like the Compass models very much and those models are a class of it´s own.
The very rare TITAN COMPASS was the last model of the PD by IWC era and
includes the experience of the entire development. So some photos of this
fascinating watch could be interesting ?!
Simply Stunning :o)
