I agree totally. Although the VC Portofino is not a true homage to the original now, it is infinitely more likely to be worn. I simply could not wind it with the old crown without damage to my index finger. Coincidently, the VC is the IWC I have been wearing this week. The next update, at the end of the month, is adding a deployant strap replacing the tang buckle.
This thread also has me wearing my VC Portofino this week. I've been able to wind it with a plastic needle cap. Not elegant but certainly functional.
Bill, you'll love the convenience of a deployant. I'm waiting for my Santoni's to arrive as well.
