I have 4 other IWC watches and just bought a Charles Darwin Aquatimer used.
The watch is working perfectly, with no cosmetic problems, except for the fact
the bezel is frozen. It will not turn at all. My watch repair guy locally says
he cannot fix it and it needs to be sent to IWC. I did get a good price on the
    watch.

I have sent two of my other watches to IWC over the last few years for a full
recondition and repair. They usually are not cheap services.

My question- send this watch to IWC and have them fix it...it would probably
send it to them in the next few years anyway or just return the watch?

Also- any idea of what is may cost(ballpark) to fix a frozen bezel.

Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You might visit an authorised IWC dealer.

He can decide whether the repair can be done in the country or Schaffhausen.

Repairs in Schaffhausen are expensive and time consuming but excellent.

IWC provides a calculation of costs if you wish before the repair.

Have you tried running warm water over the bezel?

There has been a build up of oxides that need to be freed up

Mark, I am new to this forum. Could I get you to take a look at my post today
about trying to verify a genuine vintage IWC watch? I have a few nice watches
but haven't boutht on in years. If anyone thinks its the real thing and it
turns out to be fake, I only hold myself accountable. I think it is the real
deal, but would value another eye. I know this is a bit out of the ordinary
for a forum but am thinking no one wants to replay to a post about a fake.

    Thank,

    Cam (CLP)

    Mark- THANK YOU!!!

I had tried this before when i had found the problem to no avail...

I read your post and said - why not try it again?

Ran warm water over it again- nothing- dried it and two minutes later it is
    working perfectly!!!!
