I recently purchased my first IWC and I am looking for help authenticating the watch. This was bought through ebay as a "new with tags" and I want to verify that this is in fact authentic. I probably should have done this first but I got a little excited. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hi Mark,
this one looks great, congratulations on your new IWC watch.
The pictures do not reveal too many details, but all I can see looks good and genuine. The movement already has the white ceramic parts in the winding system, so this should be one of the latest Ref. 5001 before IWC replaced it in 2015 with the Ref. 5007.
Enjoy the watch, its a great timeless classic!
