How do i up load pictures?
I can almost assure you that your watch is not an early Portuguese, if it is gold and from 1959. Does it have a 42mm case? If you have the case number I can tell you more.
To post photos, here are some simple instructions prepared by forum member Bill Barker:

Nice vintage IWC. Looks like a cal. 88. Not a Portuguese, however.
The case number would be on the back of the case, or inside of the case back lid along with the IWC "Probus Scafusia" seal.
hi does any one know what model watch this is.
Hi Jollyrodgerr7, I don't think its possible to make out the casing number from your pics.
Can you either post a clearer pic or ask your dealer what themovement and casing numbersare ? With these two numbers u can use the following for identification:
DateYourIWC by case and movement number (I prefer the applet version at the bottom), created by Marco Schönenberger
Visit our moderator Michael Friedberg's excellent website on pocket watches, and compare both the dial and the movement designs. Many pocket watches have similar dials, so you may wish to look more for similarities in movement design.
That looks like a steel case of a pocket watch to me, circa 1970s. I recently came across something very similar.
I agree with Richard - it looks like a Cal 88 (which is the "name" of the model). As Shing points out, if you can tell us the number on the movement and also the number inside the caseback, neither of which is legible in the picture, the "Date Your IWC" program will provide additional information.
It's clearly not a pocket watch --way too small. Keep in mind that both pocket watches and wristwatches often had classic and similar dials. Size and movements are the key. This should be either a calibre 83 or more likely 88 wristwatch movement.
Hi the movement number from inside of watch are 1432209 ill or 1437209 i will try to get case number..
The movement is a calibre 88, dating from the year 1958.
