Dear all,During research I found this forum as I would like to know something about the watch. Please accept my apologies as I am not able to read all interesting articles and may found exact my watch. I received this watch from my uncle in Austria and I would be great if you can help me identifying the watch. I am not able to open the watch to provide more details. Many thanks in advance for your support, Philipp/site_media/ckeditor_images/9113cae57d2c6291530c3fe208d2df5f.jpg

From what I see, it might be a Cal 853 from the early 1960s

Without more information from you there is not much we can tell you.

If you have the experience and the tools, sure open it. But if you don’t, I wouldn’t do it.

The watch is probably due for a service so take it to a competent watchmaker experienced in vintage watches, not just a guy who changes batteries.
While he is servicing it, he might take pictures of the movement and caseback for you and that will provide more information.

Mark, fair comment. I will hand over an authorized dealer. Thank you again for your assitance here.
