I'm the proud owner of an Aquatimer Jacque-Cousteau Expedtion aquatimer ref 329005. Unfortunately even with daily wear I will wake up in the morning on some days to find the watch has stopped. I'm not completely sedentary during the day and tried everything from manually winding and wearing daily but still it stops. Took it back to IWC and they sent it away for 4 weeks concluding after all their tests that nothing was wrong.

It's very disappointing as I sold my Omega Seamaster to buy this watch and it would never stop. I also had a Baume Mercier and never had an issue. I've also noticed that unlike other automatics I've owned the IWC doesn't start ticking as soon as I pick it up in the morning if it has happened to stop. I either need to give it a good shake or wind it manually to make it go again. My other watches (of out of power from 2 days of no wear) would start immediately on being picked up.

I must say it has really taken the wind out of my sail as its a watch I've always aspired to. -

Any advice appreciated - is it just the movement type that is in the watch or does it sound like there is something wrong?

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to read about the experience you have with your watch. Your post is a perfect example why we don't discuss individual service matters here on the forum as we can't see what is wrong with the watch or what happened to it. The best advice is to take it back to the dealer and explain what happens with your watch. The power reserve should last longer. if the problem continues, drop me an email so I can contact the service department.
