Fairly new to the forum having been a reader for a while. I’ve been a fan of IWC for a long time and finally joined the IWC community when I stumbled on to a CF3 in a boutique which became my first IWC. Since then I’ve added a Portuguese Chronograph Classic Laureus Edition which I found new at an AD. Great watches.

Earlier today walking past my local IWC boutique they were unwrapping a number of new pilots that had just arrived. They kindly allowed me to try a number of them on. I’m currently torn between the older BP LPP (IW500908) and the latest LPP (IW500916). The older one has been on my wish list for a while and there is still IMHO something quite special and unique about the face even in comparison with the new LPP.

Anyway—thought I’d share a couple of comparison shots of the two BP LPPs from earlier today plus the very attractive BP Perpetual Calendar Edition “Antoine De Saint Exupery” (IW503801).

The mobile phone images don’t do any of these real justice.

I still prefer the IW500908 just because of these wonderful numbers.
The best argument for the new one is that it does not look that big anymore.

Thank you for these fantastic Pictures - I totally fell in love with the new Big Pilot LPP and can´t wait so it in flesh in a few weeks.
Btw - is it the same blue like the limited Petite Prince?

    Best,
    -Christian

No Christian, the color is close but not exactly the same. This new dial comes from a different supplier and is made from iron to complete the anti-magnetic case. The original BP LPP has has a very special color that necessitated a brass dial.
