    Hello everybody,

I'm new on this forum but I already lost my time (really?) reading dozens of articles, so I feel like I'm one of yours for quite some time!

I've tried last week in Lausanne a gorgeous IWC 510205 - 75th birthday Portuguese special edition - and it was a real "Waouh!".

I am about o pull the trigger, still something is worrying me:

-I saw a lot of unworn 510205 on the grey market at - relatively - low prices
-I read a terrible review of this model, mainly reporting a very poor precision of the caliber

Do any of you own this watch?

It'd be fantastic hearing back on the precision and the feeling you have had wearing this beauty over and over!

Thank you in advance for your comments, wishing you a fantastic day

    Nicolas M.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I have this watch and it is a pleasure to wear it.
I never timed it, but would have noticed if there was a major problem with precision, and there wasn't a problem.
Go for it, I believe this is a "sleeper" for the moment but could be a great collectable.
    I love it.

Thank you for this quick feedback, to say the truth my JLC RdM runs 5 seconds too fast per day, and I have never missed an appointment because of it : )
But above 8-10 seconds I think it would bother me a bit...
Now that I've fond a happy owner, another question: do you wear it mainly with casual chic / casual / suit?
    Thx again !

I don't own the exact same watch but the 510203 with the same movement. It is running with about +6 s/d, which is not the most accurate IWC I own but completely fine for me.
It might happen that a watch runs above 8 - 10 s/d but a good watchmaker should always be capable to bring it at least below 3 - 4 s/d just by regulation.

Needless to say that I just love my 5102. It's such a classic, beautiful watch. I personally wear it mainly with shirt and suit. For more casual wear, I have other options... :-)

Thank you for the info Lyles, I indeed tried the model you own - the black version though - in Frankfurt Airport, and just loved it.
The 75th edition is maybe more flashy, and definitely different from the watches I own and generally wear, I guess that's why I really got excited when I tried it.
I currently live in Latin America and am moving to Lausanne with my family in a couple of months (reallocated), that leaves me some weeks to think about it ... again and again!
    Cheers

    Hi Nicholas.

Did you go for 75th anniversary edition? I am in the same boat as you were two
years ago. I got hold of a used one in good condition but wanna know your
    experience so far.
