    Hi all!

    I just wanted to introduce myself on this form as I am new to the brand. After buying my first luxury watch just nine months ago, I really got the "watch-virus" fast and found mysel looking for another watch!

    I decided that I am not really a "one brand guy" so after getting to know Panerai and finding out that I really enjoy wearing these special watches, I started to get to know other brands. I ended up with Hublot and of course IWC. After some comparison and seeing both brands, I decided that Hublot would not really fit as a watch to wear to the office daily so I decided to add an IWC to my Panerai.

    I finally found this great Big Pilot (5004) and I just could not leave the store without buying! It has such a presens, wears nice on the wrist, does not really scream out to be different (like Hublot does, which I think would make a great watch for my time off) and is a real classic icon!

    I really love it a lot and also the 7day reserve makes it very easy to keep using other watches as well, without having to adjust it all the time!

    I am happy! Thanks for reading,

    JD

    First, welcome to the forum which is the premier spot to learn about the history, tradition, and all things about IWC. Second, you are now an owner of one of the iconic IWC references. Congratulations, and wear it in good health. You made a wise and great decision. But, I will bet it will not be your last IWC. You have been infected by the IWC uhren-virus that is quite contagious with no known cure.

    JD,

    A warm welcome. I joined about a year ago and plug in most nights, sometimes for 2 minutes, other times 30 mins + depending on variety, education and topics generally. I phone / i pad make it so accessible, when travelling or just chilling out.

    Out of interest what attracted you to not leave without it as that is next on list, being the owner of 2 IWC's (5001007 and fanta Acquatimer)

    Wear with good health.

    Regards

    Mark

    Hi mark,

    It is hard to discribe... When you hav on a BP, it just looks so simple with the black dial and white hands (that almost seem to float) and the cristal is very flat, it is almost like it is not there!

    So my tip is to safe up first, then try it on! I will get you guys some pics (sorry, iPhone quality but I will make different ones later!);

    A word of warning John, the IWC virus can be very detrimental to your wallet, take it from someone that knows.

    Welcome.
