Just received a GST Perpetual with salmon dial...I love this watch!  The watch was purchased in "unused" condition with all boxes and papers and condition looks amazing.  I do have some questions/issues though:

When I received the watch it was set for some date in 2016.  I tried to set it to today's date and it now reads Wednesday, April 23, 2018, which is a nonexistent date (since it should say Monday).  I figured it would probably be wise to send the watch in for service anyway, but I just wanted to check...is it unusual for the calendar discs to be unsynched like this?

My second question concerns the moonphase display.  I saw another example of this watch in person and the moonphase disc was super sparkly, but this one is clearly less sparkly...it's definitely more difficult to see the stars.  Is there a lot of variation in sparkliness of these moonphase displays?  Thanks for your help...here's a pic of the new watch:

Uh oh, I also noticed that the moonphase disc will actually move around...if I turn the watch one way and jiggle it lightly the moonphase moves that way.  Turn the watch around the other way and jiggle and it moves back the other way!!  Is this unheard of?  Obviously a service is needed here!

Sounds like there are multiple issues here that certainly indicate that a service is required.
How well does the Chronograph function?

As far as I can tell, the chronograph functions perfectly.  I was expecting a service would be a good idea after purchasing a watch this old, but I was hoping it wouldn't have these blatant issues.  The overall condition of the case, dial, bracelet, box, papers is excellent.  I guess at this point I want to make sure the watch is genuine as quickly as possible...everything looks correct to me anyway.  The less sparkly moonphase was the only thing I wasn't sure about.  Here is a pic of the other example I looked at that had a very sparkly moonphase:
