Love it!!!
Thanks for all the kind remarks.
Bob: success with your Portuguese Chrono Classic ;-)
Carlos: I don't think discussing prices is appropriate here; I have sent you a personal mail…
My sincerest apologies!
Upgraded to the Ocean Racer strap as well and absolutely love it. Gives it a elegant look while retaining it's sporty character!
Well done and welcome to the forum.
I could not find a new old stock gold bracelet for my 45 year old gold Yacht Club, so, after complete restoration at IWC in Switzerland, ordered a strap made of polished stingray in Blue with a deployment clasp.and

Very nice - that watch really "pops" now!
A question for those that upgraded to the rubber/leather strap: how does it wear in terms of longevity? Is this a strap that will hold out for years or does the rubber start deteriorating? I am presuming no one has had this strap for more than two or three years at this point but any feedback as to how those straps are holding out (especially with heavy wear) would be greatly appreciated. Mine is ordered nevertheless and coming next week for my regular, white-faced YC.
I'm wearing my rubber only strap on the Yacht Club for more than 4 years now. Before it was in use for 1 or 2 years more because I bought the watch preowned.
You see it's not new but still wearing and looking good.
I have the rubber / leather combination on my Ingenieur Chrono Silberpfeil for more than 1.5 years now and still looking very good. The brown leather has turned into dark brown almost black but it's still beautiful, even with regular swimming.
Sorry I don't have good pictures by now.
An additional question: is a similar leather/rubber strap (possibly also on folding clasp) also available for the new 43.5 mm diameter Yacht Club Chrono too?
Thx,
Robert
I can confirm Tilo's answer. I changed approx. two years ago to the leather/rubber strap. It looks still brilliant and it is of high quality.
So, look forward to your new strap. A picture with the new strap will be highly appreciated.
Cheers Chris
Finally also upgraded. If anyone is on the fence, highly recommend this strap although the price is definitely tough to swallow...do hope the longevity is there.
Great shot, great strap, congrats on the upgrade! I am convinced it will pay off ;-)
Cheers Chris
Looks great - congrats.
As you can see on page 2 of this thread I upgraded my titanium Volvo Ocean Race one almost 2 years ago and have never looked back. It makes this sporty and elegant watch even classier. I have used mine with the new strap on rotation quite a bit in the last 2 years and it still looks almost as new. Obviously I have not taken it in the water with the leather inlay, but other than that it has been exposed to a lot of activity.
So no worries, this one will last and look good for a long time. Enjoy it!
That's good to know. Thanks for taking the time to update.
