    I own 2 contemporary IWCs and decided my first foray into vintage territory should be the Mark XI.  I found this forum to be a wealth of knowledge which gave me some comfort level (deserved or not) with my purchase.  Thank you to all who have contributed to the helpful knowledge base here.

    1155, 1951.  Dial is the tritium replacement.  One of the fixed bars was damaged and replaced with a spring bar at some point.  There is some minor abrasions on the glass.  I purchased it from a German private seller.  The story is that he inherited it as part of a military collection from a relative (which included a Breitling and Laco).  Hopefully no one here is going to tell me that I've been fleeced.

    No, this is the caseback. 
    There should also be a metal disk within the case back that forms part of the faraday cage as well.
